The fresh start of a new week – Monday mornings. In the past I could feel that Monday mornings was a bit of a struggle, to be honest. When shifting perspective, thinking more positive, I now see a lot of potentials with the Monday mornings. A fresh new day, a fresh new week is ahead, and I can do whatever I want to fill it with positive things, keep learning new things, developing my intellect and keep building my knowledge bank by reading, exercising, doing the daily yoga, just filling my days with as many things as possible that I love doing. So now – I must say I love the potential that is in a Monday Morning!

Your mind is a powerful thing, when you fill it with positive thoughts your life will start to change


Today’s quote is really true. Be careful with your thoughts and only fill your mind with positive thoughts and notice any changes and what happens. I am sure you will see a difference very soon. Get rid of the toxic thoughts! They does not help you in any way, they only make your life more difficult and they will be in the way of you creating the life you want to live.

So go think happy thoughts, think positive thoughts and your life WILL start to change.

Ps Being outside in nature for a little while every day will help you. Enjoy your surrounding wherever you are, and see the beauty in the small things like raindrops on the leaves or feeling the sunlight in your face. Listen to the wind blowing in the trees or the birds singing. Inhale. Exhale. Now we are going into brighter and lighter days!

Inspire your head, heart and soul

With this blog Beayogawoman I want to inspire your head, heart and soul and make you feel that everything is possible, whatever mountain you want to climb. Because if you really want to work on your personal development you need to take care of all these different areas of yourself.

The head (your intellect) needs stimuli to keep developing and by reading books every day, or listen to some podcast, reading a blog, you will continue to learn new things. Also, when you meditate, maybe write a journal to reflect on your targets, your behaviours and your plans, you work on developing the first and very important part of yourself, your head.

The heart is about gratitude, and taking good care of yourself and others. By caring about yourself I mean exercising, having a good nights sleep, relaxing, being kind to yourself. And to be grateful for all the beautiful things that you have in life already, could be your family, your friends or your health, maybe writing a gratitude journal every day to really think about the small things in life that you are so grateful about. Notice the little things. And exercising is so important for your heart to feel good. It does not need to be a tough workout at the gym, taking a walk for 20-30 minutes a day will make a big difference.

To inspire the soul sounds so pretentious, but this is about finding your purpose in life, your “why”, your passion and your dharma. What it is that makes you get up in the morning with a feeling of joy and happiness and also give you some ideas on how to find the answer to this difficult question.

Take excellent care of the front end of your day, and the rest of your day will pretty much take care of itself. Own your morning. Elevate your life.


Today you find another inspiring book tip, The 5 AM club, that is a perfect book to continue with after reading ‘The monk who sold his Ferrari’. (Link here) If you are serious about making a change in your life, this book will guide you through and give you some really valuable insights and tip along the way.

I am now reading the book again, and I keep making new discoveries that I did not see the first time I read it. So repetition is also a good way to learn and work with a text, no matter what book, to really deep dive into the theories. I am testing this myself, and if you want to read about how I am doing, you will find more posts about this in the blog.

Be brave and change a habit

Being brave can be about so many different things. It can of course be facing your fear of hights and go for a bungy-jump or facing your fear of snakes by doing something to get rid of that fear. But in terms of personal development I think it is about making brave choices. Like making a change of habit to get a change in your life, or to follow your dreams and goals in life and not take the easy way but challenge yourself a bit (or a lot). Maybe it means changing your career path to something totally different, taking an education you have always dreamed of, leaving your safe job as a teacher to start your own business, or start to work with coaching instead of your work as an IT manager. Especially if you are a person that do not like changes, that feel comfortable when everything is at it always has been. Then embracing any change is a very brave thing to do!

And I really believe a change of habit is a brave thing to do, for anyone. And it is not easy. Facing your worries, facing your fears or starting to live your dreams takes some effort, a lot of will-power and comitment.

As an example, you know that I started the 66 day challenge of the 5 AM club (by Robin Sharma). Now it is day #47 and a lot of days/ mornings I have been struggling. Wondering WHY I am getting up at 5, when I could be in my bed sleeping instead… But keep getting up, keep doing the morning routine, using my “success hour”, it has started to give results. This weekend I really felt that there was a change. My body and mind WANTED me to go in with the routine even if it was weekend, some days of work, and when I usually give myself time to sleep in a little bit longer. I woke up at 4.30 without the alarm clock, feeling so energetic, listening to the birds singing and just enjoying the moment. And this has never happened before. I am one of those people who is “not a morning person” 🙂 Think you now them to, the “non morning persons”, maybe you are even that person yourself? Or think you are that person to. Because you are not. You can too change this, if you set your mind to it.

My morning routine looks like this:

  • 5.00 – 5.20: 20 minutes of Yoga exercise of choice (usually vinyasa or poweryoga)
  • 5.20 – 5.40: 20 minutes of Reflection and Mindfulness, writing my journal, thinking about my dreams and goals, what went well the day before and what my focus will be during the day to come
  • 5.40 – 6.00: 20 minutes of Learning, listening to one of my favourite podcasts, an audio book or a session from Robin Sharma. Anything that makes me grow and develop my personal skills.

It is hard but it is really starting to give me some results now! So I encourage you, whatever you want to be brave about, if it is changing a habit or facing some of your fears. Do it! Challenge yourself and push your limits – a little or a lot, you decide. Remember, you will only regret the things that you dream about but never gets done. Live your dreams. Be brave and change a habit.

Be strong

‘Be strong’ to me equals to do what you love and what you believe in. To go your own way and not care so much about what others think or say about you. To be strong is to have the will-power to follow through what you started, to follow your plans, your intentions and your dreams.

For me, being strong is for instance to take control of my morning routine as I am practising in the 5 AM club. To get up every morning even though it is hard, when the body and the mind is saying NO, what are you doing?! Stay in bed, go to sleep.. 🙂 But the reward of being strong and being consistent in this routine is giving me the feeling of control. And I do now have the time to exercise, to reflect, to read or listen to a book, to write this blog. All the things that I want to do, besides doing my 9 to 5 job. And I still have the time to start working early, and I have already planned for the day (done the day before) so I know exactly what is the most important topic to solve or get done, therefore by the end of the day I have fulfilled my planned tasks, and I can checkout feeling content with my job performance since I have been focusing on the right things (not only the urgent ones). And leaving work with this feeling, I also still have the time to be with my family, have some time to my other interests like gardening or writing, listening, learning, or just have some time to be silent and reflect. And yes of course, if you are wondering, there is of course also the time for cooking, for taking care of the laundry, for cleaning, and all the regular stuff that needs to be done, but if you take the opportunity to listen and learn (audio book, podcast or other) then your cleaning or washing can even be a nice way to have some time on your own and work on your personal development or having fun at the same time.

Being strong without mentioning the ongoing Covid pandemic is hard. Of course, we also need to be strong tackling all the things that is not normal at the moment, and we see a lot of different examples of people being strong, hanging in there. For instance The Jerusalema challenge that spread all over the world, with music and dance that makes you happy to do, and also to watch, I believe that is a way of helping each other being strong, and being stronger together!

So being strong is not only about your body strength, being fit and well-trained, but it is also about having mental strength. So keep exercising, for instance your everyday yoga practice, to keep your body strong and healthy, and also, remember to be strong in your will-power to follow your dreams by taking small everyday steps and actions towards what you love and what you believe in. Have fun!

Of course you should always keep in mind to have fun. Even if you are striving for personal development, wanting to do good in school, to have a great career, learn new things, read a lot of books and so on, of course, the journey will be so much more pleasant if you have some fun along the way 🙂 Do not forget to laugh as often as you can.

What do you do to have fun then? What is your favourite activity for instance? And also, this does not have to be going to a place like a funpark, not at all, but having fun by meeting friends for dinner, having fun by go rollerscating with your kids, or playing a favourite game with your family. Or it is something else, you know what this is.

I have quit easy to laugh, and this also is a way to have fun, and increase the positive spirit around you. When you find something humourous and to laugh so much you are not able to stop, you know that lovely bubbly laughter when you almost cry your eyes out. That feeling! 🙂

So I hope you do have some fun in your life, try to find the joy and fun in the small things and do not forget to laugh as much as you can. It will increase your life quality and what I have heard, you will also live longer. Wish you the best. Take Care. Namaste.

Life is now

Life is a beatiful thing and you should treat it like a treasure.

Life is now and you should really treat it like a treasure. It is in your hands to make the best out of it. Thinking about what you love to do, dream big, and then go for it. Life is too short to wait!

I still do the 5 AM Club challenge, today it is day #39, and one of the reasons for me to continue to get up early is this. Life is too short. And to have the time to do the things I really want to to, like this blog, like reflecting, like reading, means that I want to use the hours of the day in a smart way. In the morning I feel energetic and strong, and during my success hour I get so much done and it is affecting the rest of my day in a very positive way.

Happy thoughts

“The happiness in your life

depends upon the quality of your thoughts”


The power of your thoughts is really strong. And your mind is a powerful thing, so when you start think more happy and positive thoughts things will start to happen. All of us are of course experiencing both good and bad things in life, but it is the way we handle what happens that differs. When bad things happen, we can choose to think about it as being a disaster and letting our negative thoughts take control and make us feel even worse. Or, we can choose to think positive and try to see things differently. And by doing so, we are creating a life of happiness.

For instance, in the ongoing Covid situation we all facing. Yes, it is a terrible virus and the situation is really awful. But, in this situation there are also some positive effects that I see many people experiencing. Like being able to slow down the pace in life, to take the opportunity and invest time into things you like doing, maybe spending a bit more time taking care of your home and your family, enjoying time in your garden if you have one, reading books, maybe reflecting on what you want to do in your life once things get back to “normal” or new normal again. Maybe there is some changes you want to make. This can actually be an opportunity, right?

To help you with this process I really recommend a daily mindfulness meditation, works very well as a part of your yoga session. I usually start with the meditation, before going into other yoga exercises. Also, you can set an intention for the day, use a mantra, or whatever works for you to help you focus on the right things. That what is giving you positive energy and that what is making you feel good.

So, trying to keep your thoughts positive will for sure help you in whatever situation you are in. It is all a matter of choice.

Yoga in my life

Yoga in my life to strengthen my body, mind and soul.

I first started with yoga some years ago because I felt the need of something to change. I was literally running through my life, and never had the time for a break or some time alone, to reflect or rewind. When I found a local yoga class where the teacher taught me to not only do yoga but also to meditate, to reflect and stop the constant running in my life. One time she read a quote from a book about the yoga philosophy that really got to me. It was about a man that kept chasing a bigger boat, more money, more of everything, and in the end of his life he still felt so empty and died alone without anyone noticing. The point was to stop chasing for more and more, and to start appreciate and be grateful for what you already have in your life. I needed to hear that.

Yoga is not only a way for me to exercise. It is a way of living. It helps me build my body stronger, so it gives me physical strength, but it also helps me being mentally stronger, to slow down and to think clearer before acting or taking any decisions. It also helps my spirituality, to find what feels right to me, and to find my values and purpose, to live according to my true self. So yoga is really helping to unify body, mind and soul in a fantastic way and once you have started with this I guess you are stuck for life 🙂 So the name of my blog – Be a yoga woman – is my purpose in life, and I am embracing it in everything I do and it makes me feel so much stronger in every aspect. For me this is really the best and most effective form of personal development.
